Shuttle K45 - a cheap barebone system

Shuttle today presents its latest coup - a mini-PC barebone for just EUR 94. The Shuttle Barebone K45 is based on the proven Intel 945GC chip set and supports both power-saving and current dual-core processors. The small dimensions make it the ideal format for your desk. Here, where mainly only simple applications such as the Internet, e-mail or Office are required, the K45 really shows its stuff.

"On the basis of the K45, completely equipped mini-PC solutions for simple applications can be realised starting from EUR 199", explained Tom Seiffert, head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. "In times of increasing energy prices, it doesn't always have to be the biggest and fastest model on the desk. An economical mini-PC can carry out routine applications just as well while saving energy."

Simplicity was of primary importance in the development of the K45. In contrast to the orientation of Shuttle's XPC model series towards covering as many application areas as possible, the K45 is entirely targeted in its functionality: whether as an office PC, (thin) client on a terminal server, a control PC for information stands, a cashier system or a home server, the platform-independence with respect to Windows and Linux is ideal.

Despite the attractive price, this mini-PC barebone is characterised by an Intel chip set, gigabit network and high-quality processing. It has space for two hard drives and can optionally be equipped with WLAN.

Dispensing with an optical drive and front-side connections means additional security for your company. Company data cannot be removed and damaging software cannot be introduced in this way.

A personal motif can be placed in the front panel with only a few motions. In this way, optical highlights can be created or a company logo can be positioned prominently as well.
