MSI has unveiled its K9N2 series motherboards lineup. This new series features three motherboards with the nForce 780a or 750a chipsets: the MSI K9N2 Diamond, MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum and the MSI K9N2 Zilent.

The MSI K9N2 series supports AMD socket AM2 and AM2+, phenom CPU, PCI-Express generation 2.0, hybrid SLI and eSATA. All new motherboards are equipped with the award winning MSI Ciru-Pipe heatpipe cooler. The MSI K9N2 Diamond comes with an X-Fi Xtreme Audio card and 3 way Nvidia SLI support. The MSI K9N2 Zilent is bundled with a ZALMAN CPU Cooler.
Hybrid SLI and 3-way SLI ready!
The MSI K9N2 series motherboards are Hybrid SLI ready. With this new technology users can combine the onboard GeForce GPU (780a and 750a) with a MSI graphic card based on Nvidia chipset. This creates an extra performance boost. Besides this, when the (for example) MSI N9800GX2-M2D1G-OC graphic card is not being used in the 3D mode it can be powered off and switched to the onboard GeForce GPU. This provides a silent, low power pc solution.

The MSI K9N2 Diamond is 3-way SLI technology ready. This technology can combine 3 graphic cards to process tasks, which provides higher 3D gaming resolutions and more detailed DX10 effects. It will also enhance the 3D frame rate to a higher level for a smoother gaming experience. The MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum supports the SLI technology that combines 2 graphic cards. Thanks to the PCI-E bandwidth upgrade to Generation 2 the MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum can raise the performance bar.

MSI Circu-Pipe and MSI exclusive HI-C CAP technology
All motherboards of the MSI K9N2 series come with MSI’s exclusive Circu-Pipe heatpipe cooler. The MSI Circu-Pipe effectively reduces the high temperature of the chipset and MOSFET, this improves the system’s stability and product life. The CPU power supply of the MSI K9N2 series are based on a five phase PWM design. The MSI K9N2 Diamond, MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum and the MSI K9N2 Zilent all are equipped with 100% made in Japan solid capacitors. The PWM capacitors on the motherboards are HI-C CAPs. HI-C CAP (Highly-conductive polymerized Capacitor) is a high end capacitor which is already used for years in the server industry. MSI is the first to implement this next generation solid capacitor on the desktop platform as well. The HI-C CAP is suitable for motherboards with a high-frequency switching power supply. The looks of the HI-C CAP are similar to the Tantalum capacitor.
