Asus is working on a new premium priced notebook for its Republic of Gamers lineup. This Asus Republic of Gamers G70S gaming notebook has an aluminum body and features a 17" LCD display with a 1440 x 900 pixel resolution.

The Asus G70S features the Intel Core 2 Duo T9500 processor, Intel PM965 chipset, NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT SLI, 2GB 667MHz DDR2 memory, 300GB HDD and room for a second HDD, RAID support, full-sized keyboard, HDMI, 2 megapixel webcam, digital TV tuner, WiFi, ...

The G70s is definitely not a very portable notebook but looks like a pretty decent but very expensive desktop replacement. It measures 425 x 320 x 60mm, weighs 4.7kg and has a battery life of only 1.2 hours with a 8-cell li-ion battery.
