MSI will release two versions of its Wind notebook, a $399 and $549 model.
The $549 machine features a 10-inch LCD screen with a 1024x600 resolution, is loaded with Windows XP Home, boasts an Intel Atom CPU clocked at 1.6 GHz, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 80GB hard drive and also features three USB 2.0 ports, a built-in 1.3 MP webcam, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and a six-cell battery. The $399 model has similar specs with the exceptions being the use of a three-cell battery, only 512MB of RAM and a different OS - Novell's SUSE Linux. These should give the Eee PC a run for its money and we didn't even mention the fact that they'll be available in several colors - white, black and pink. Also, do remember Wind laptops with 8.9-inch screens will also be released.
