Sharp presents smallest 5 megapixel CMOS sensor

Last week Sharp unveiled world's smallest 5 megapixel CMOS camera module.

This new unit is only 6.6mm thick and will be incorporated into cell phones. The module has auto focus and Sharp says the signal-to-noise ratio has been improved by 60 percent.

Samples are shipping right now and production will start within five weeks.
