The ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics cards that will be released later this month will be about 8-9 percent faster in 3DMark06 than the good old GeForce 8800 GT, according to FUD Zilla.
The 3DMark06 scores we heard were around 10,800 for the 8800 GT with the Radeon HD 4850 coming in at about 11,760. Not a huge win, but this is with beta drivers on a reference GDDR3 card, so with some help from AMD’s partners, we might see some better scores.

We haven’t seen a single partner made card so far, but some partners will have shipped cards into the channel by the time AMD is ready to announce the new cards and we’re not talking a handful of cards, we’re talking 1000’s if not 10,000’s of cards.
The site also claims the Radeon HD 4870 X2 will be released about six weeks after the RV770 launch. This means you'll may have to wait until late August until you can get your hands on one of those dual-GPU R700 cards.
