Noctua presented their SecuFirm2 mounting system for Intel's new socket 1366 (Nehalem/Bloomfield) at Computex. This mounting kit is backwards compatible with all Noctua CPU cooler since 2005 and involves less parts so the installation will be easier and faster.

The installation is as follows:
  • Put the backplate on your motherboard
  • Fix the mounting bars with four thumb-screws
  • Fasten the cooler - done!

  • The cool thing is all users of Noctua CPU coolers will be able to obtain the kit either for free or at a very low service charge (to be determined) upon presenting a proof of purchase (scan or photo of the invoice).
