Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB HDD launched

Western Digital has launched two new 3.5" 7200RPM SATA Caviar Black hard drives. The Caviar Black units are the fastest high-capacity models WD offers to consumers, these new drives feature 32MB cache and dual processor for maximum performance.

The WD Caviar Black is available in 750GB and 1TB capacities for $199 and $249, respectively. These HDDs are backed by a five year limited warranty and you should be able to buy them next week.

WD was the first company to introduce a hard drive, optimized for low power consumption, using GreenPower technology, and is raising the bar for the high performance desktop market with WD Caviar Black.
