Just a few months after the launch of the Canon EOS 450D (XSi in the US) Canon rolls out a new budget digital SLR camera.

The new Canon EOS 1000D, nicked EOS Rebel XS in the US, features a 10 megapixel sensor, 2.5" LCD display with Live View, DIGIC III image processor, seven-point AF and the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS kit lens. Just like the EOS 450D it uses LP-E5 batteries and SD or SDHC memory cards.

The body has a MSRP of 579EUR and if you want to bundle with the kit lens you'll have to spend 100EUR more. Canon says the EOS 1000D will be available by the end of July.
