German webshop offers GeForce GTX 280 for 599EUR

German webshop HW Elektronik is one of the first to offer a preorder for a GeForce GTX 280 1GB graphics card. The card is priced at 599.90EUR (incl. 19% VAT) and features a 602MHz core and 1GB GDDR3 memory clocked at 2210MHz.

The shop says the card should be available in June 16th. At the current currency exchange rate 599.90EUR equals $927.56 but obviously NVIDIA isn't going to charge that much money for a GeForce GTX 280 in the US. Retail prices will probably be in the $600-650 range.

There was also a French webshop that offered the card for 575EUR but they probably received an angry call is the page is already down.
