Japanese computer site PC Watch published some slides from a AMD press conference.

The Radeon HD 4850 (RV770 PRO) will be available on June 25, this card will compete against the GeForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GTS and GeForce 9600 GT. AMD says the Radeon HD 4850 offers 1 teraFLOPS of computing power at a power consumption of only 110W.

The faster Radeon HD 4870 (RV770 XT) has been delayed, availability for this card is now slated for July 8 and according to AMD this model will compete against the GeForce 9800 GTX.

The slides also reveal the dual-GPU R700 won't be available for another 8 weeks or so, that puts the launch of this card somewhere in mid-August. Furthermore, it seems AMD is still thinking hard about the brand name of this card. Most people refer to the R700 as the Radeon HD 4870 X2 but it seems the card - which is positioned against the GeForce 9800 GX2 and GT200 - may get another name.
