ATI Radeon HD 4870 to be in short supply

FUD Zilla writes supply of Radeon HD 4870 graphics cards will be limited due to weak availability of GDDR5 chips:
ATI does have a small advantage as Nvidia plans to ship its new 55nm Geforce 9800GTX+ around 15th of June and we are yet to see Geforce GTX 260 availability. GTX 260 is also expected this week and we don’t expect big shortages but it will end up significantly more expensive than ATI’s new offering.

Radeon HD 4870 will remain in short supplies for the next few weeks mainly due the weak availability of GDDR5 memory but the situation is likely to get better in the weeks to come. As we've said many times before, the price wars have started and we are sure that the prices will change many times before the end of this hot and interesting summer.
