Leaked GeForce 177.40 beta driver contains reference to new GT200 card

Posted on Thursday, June 26 2008 @ 03:52:18 CEST by

The NVIDIA GeForce 177.40 beta drivers were leaked today, you can grab them over here.

One of the interesting things is that these drivers contain a reference to a new GT200-based graphics card: the NVIDIA GT200-400.

The GeForce GTX 260 is codenamed "GT200-100" and the GeForce GTX 280 also lives under the "GT200-300" - I'm not sure if you can apply any logic to these codenames but it might indicate the GT200-400 is a faster part. We don't know anything about this GT200-400 but it could be an upcoming 55nm shrink of the GeForce GTX 200 series.

Both a 55nm shrink part are possible as well as a 55nm 260 GX2 is also possible.
