Just like the current Core 2 Duo E7300, the new chip will have a pair of 45nm cores, 3MB of shared L2 cache, and a 1066MHz front-side bus. The E7300 currently retails for around $140, but since it runs at only 2.66GHz, Intel will reportedly drag it down to $113 upon the E7400's arrival. Fudzilla doesn't say if those changes will affect the Core 2 Duo E8400, which currently costs $170 and runs at 3GHz with a peppier (1333MHz) FSB and twice as much cache.
