NVIDIA to cut some of its partners Q1 2009

FUD Zilla claims NVIDIA will shorten its partner list after January. Some of the smaller partners will have to go, in order to give NVIDIA's larger partners more breathing room:
The story behind is quite logical, the big partners can now twist Nvidia’s arm to do it, as otherwise more people would defer to the red camp. Especially in this moment, Nvidia cannot afford to lose any of its supporters and it especially doesn’t want to see people like XFX and EVGA, the guys with the strongest Nvidia only portfolio, to start selling ATI cards.

Financially this might be a disaster for a smaller brands, I guess that some of them will eventually disappear, making a bit more breathing space for the big ones. We will keep our eyes opened for the latest developments but it looks that this might be a bright moment for the big ones, and not so bright for many small partners.
