A-DATA is one of the first to release a tri-channel memory kit for the upcoming Intel Core i7 processors and X58 motherboards. The firm will debut 3GB and 6GB memory kits which are certified to run at 1333MHz and 1600MHz.

Here are the specifications:
  • DDR3-1600+ & 1333+ 3GB/6GB tri-channel module kits are tested at 1600MHz/1333MHz
  • Test in tri-channel configuration at latency settings 8-8-8-24 2T for DDR3-1600+ and 7-7-7-20 2T for DDR3-1333+ at 1.65V-1.75V
  • SPD (Serial Presence Detect) programmed at JEDEC standard for basic system booting
  • A potential problem with these kits is that they need 1.65V to 1.75V to run at the advertised clockspeeds and timings. We'll need to wait until there are some reviews to know for sure, but it's highly advised not to go over 1.65V on the Core i7 platform as this may fry your processor.
