One of the next big things for netbooks may be touchscreens. DigiTimes reports we can expect a new ASUS Eee PC with a touchscreen in the first quarter of 2009. The firm hopes this new feature will boost the sales even further.
The company has not yet decided details of the models which will be updated but will reach a decision based on market demand. The company expects to showcase the products during CES 2009, Hu noted.

Hu also revealed that Asustek will launch dual-core Atom-based netbooks as soon as Intel begins shipping the CPUs. However, Intel has not yet confirmed a date on when this will happen.

In addition to touch panel and dual-core Atom-based Eee PCs, president, Jerry Shen, revealed that the company will also release a model priced less than NT$10,000 (US$307) during 2009.
