Panasonic announced this week that it has now manufactured over 300 million TVs since 1952!
It is the first time for a TV maker anywhere to hit the 300 million mark, the company said. Although Panasonic began manufacturing TVs under its National brand, it started using the Panasonic name in 1961 for TVs exported to the United States. In 1988, it switched to Panasonic for all its TVs, including those sold domestically. Altogether, it has sold 105 million National and 195 million Panasonic TVs.
It took the firm ten years to climb from 200 million to 300 million, but they expect the 400 million mark may be reached within just a couple of years.
