Joakim Polster, the VP of AMDs marketing in EMEA, has confirmed that there should be some new 45nm parts coming up shortly. He believes that both quad and tri-core Phenoms are doing fine but AMD could use a boost from a new products such as upcoming Shanghai 45nm core.
AMD also believe that its tri-cores are doing fine and that Shanghai and the 45nm desktop part codenamed Deneb can make a difference to the current CPU market. It took AMD longer than expected to transition to 45nm but with The Foundry Company these transitions should be much faster in the years to come.
