NEC unveiled it will debut its first netbook in November. The device is called LaVie Light, it has a 8.9" LCD display and will debut in Japan.
The LaVie Light adopts Intel's N270 processor along with 1GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive and Windows XP. The price of the netbook has not yet been set.

However, the netbook will not be launched in the Taiwan market since NEC's major focus in Taiwan is project solutions and services. The company does not have any plans to pursue consumer electronics in Taiwan at this time.
