DigiTimes reports MSI expects to sell a total of 600,000 to 700,000 Wind netbooks this year, up from its 500,000 unit target earlier this year.
With many white-box vendors in Europe and Southeast Asia placing orders, MSI's netbook shipments will reach their peak in the fourth quarter, noted the sources.

The company also expects its own-brand notebook shipments to reach 800,000 to one million units this year.

With the growth of netbooks and own-brand notebooks, MSI may have chance to overtake Samsung to become a top-ten vendor worldwide, added the sources.
