The rumour that Foxconn is planning to quit the branded motherboard market resurfaced again this morning at DigiTimes:
The sources commented that Foxconn recently told its sales department to stop taking orders for some motherboard models, and to stop gathering order volume forecasts for all new models, implying that the company is clearing out its inventory. The sources also added that Foxconn is making the adjustments with a very low profile and will not make an announcement since that could impact its inventory clearing.
However, Foxconn told Expreview they have no intention of quitting the motherboard market:
As soon as we heard the rumor, we contacted Eric Zhu,channel manager of Foxconn. He said the rumor is not true, Foxconn have no plan to quit from branded mainboard market. The sales department is only adjusting the existing stock product for few days, the adjusting doesn’t means stop branded mainboard business.

To show us how good they’ve done, Eric Zhu said their total amount of mainboard shipment outnumber ECS or other similar brand. Also, Eric points out Foxconn’s new product will be release on time, including the up coming X58 mainboard, Blood Rage and Renaissance, that will be the best answer to the rumors.
