AMD says Dragon platform is better than Intel Core 2 Quad

Expreview received a propaganda slide from AMD with some claims about the performance of the upcoming Dragon platform, which features the Phenom II processor, 790 series motherboard and a Radeon HD 4800 series graphics card. The slide claims the AMD Phenom II 940 3GHz processor is significantly faster than the Intel Core 2 Q9300 2.5GHz and Q9400 2.66GHz processors but you'll have to wait for the first reviews to know for sure.

For all we know, AMD didn't use a discrete graphics card in the gaming tests and basically compared the integrated graphics performance of their 790GX chipset with the Intel G45 IGP. It's pretty odd that the score of the Intel chips in Lost Planet and Unreal Tournament 3 is nearly the same, this suggests the Intel systems may have been GPU-limited. It looks pretty fishy but perhaps AMD will soon have a chip that can compete against the almost one-year old Intel Yorkfield. It will be no match for the Core i7 though.
