AMD updates chipset roadmap for 2009

DigiTimes gathered new information about AMD's chipset plans for 2009:
  • January 2009 will see the launch of the 760G, this is a new entry-level IGP chipset based on the RS780 architecture. It has DX10 graphics and SM4.0 but will lack UVD, Hybrid CrossFireX, HDMI and DisplayPort. The 760G will be bundled with the SB710 southbridge and will replace the 740G.

  • Updated 790FX and 790GX IGP chipsets with Socket AM3 compatibility are on their way, these chipsets will be paired with the SB750 southbridge.

  • In May or June 2009 we can expect the RS880 IGP chipset with SB750 southbridge.

  • A 770 chipset is expected in July or August, this chipset will be paired with the SB710.

  • The RD890 and SB800 are expected in September.
