Nine tech predictions for 2009

Lists of predictions of what will happen in the new year are always fun, especially when you read them again after a couple of years. Blogger Jim Goldman at CNBC published a list of nine tech predictions for 2009. Here's a quick overview of his crystal ball expectations for 2009:
  • Microsoft buys Yahoo
  • Apple announces something awesome, cool, beautiful in January at MacWorld
  • Google will announce a new revenue stream, perhaps related to Cloud Computing
  • The tech industry will recover
  • Facebook will announce layoffs, and broader partnership with Microsoft
  • AMD will disappear completely as a competitor to Intel
  • Dell will acquire Palm to enter the smartphone market
