DigiTimes heard ASUS will release a new series of notebooks named Omega in 2009.

Omega will be a lineup targeted at the upper-end of the entry-level market, the site says ASUS will focus on the price points between NT$20,000-30,000 (US$600-900) with this notebook.

The report also mentions ASUS has set an internal shipment goal of eight million Omega units next year. That's a lot, considering the firm recently suggested it will miss its goal to ship a total of 6 million notebooks this year.
