PC Games Hardware found benchmark scores of AMD's Phenom II X4 940 processor at breakthelimit.net. The test system featured a MSI DKA790GX Platinum motherboard, ASUS Radeon HD 4870 TOP 512MB graphics card and a Patriot Warp V3 32GB SSD. Here are the results:
For running of SuperPi 1M the Phenom II X4 940 (3 GHz default clock speed) needed 22.9 seconds. SuperPi 32M was finished after 24 minutes and 15 seconds. The Cinebench R10 delivered a multi-core render result of 9754 points.

Overclocked to 4 Gigahertz the Phenom II was able to finish SuperPi 1M after 16.9 seconds, the Cinebench R10 result increased to 12,883 points.
Another set of results of the Phenom II 940 were spotted by Engadget at HardForum:
The Phenom II 940 running at 3GHz scored a 4,091 on 3DMark06 and, once OC'd up to 3.85GHz, delivered a score of 5,086. It's rather too early to draw any conclusions from these numbers, and we don't know what he paid for the thing, but that performance does fall well behind Intel's Core i7 Extreme that was similarly benchmarked last month, scoring 6,608 at the same clock speed. That's quite a gap -- but nothing a little liquid nitrogen won't fix.
