Chinese sources claim SiS plans to expand its consumer electronics lineup by developing products including digital photo frames and multi-touch panel ICs next year.
The company will also focus on collecting royalties from intellectual property (IP) licensing, according to a Chinese-language Apply Daily report.

As for the company's spin-off plans, which will take place on January 1 next year, the company pointed out that the two subsidiaries will focus on research, development and sales segment of IC products, while wafer purchasing and backend services will be handled by SiS. SiS will continue to wholly own the two subsidiaries, added the paper.
