Nielsen has released a list of the top ten played computer games in the US from January to October 2008, the chart below shows what percentage of PC gamers are playing these games and the average minutes played per week.
Unsurprisingly, Blizzard's hit World of Warcraft tops the list, it's by far the most popular PC game and WoW players spend an average of 671 minutes per week in Azeroth. The second most popular game was Call of Duty 4, followed by the rather old Halo: Combat Evolved.
The list of the top ten PC games contains many old games, The Sims and the Sims 2 take up the fourth and fifth spot, respectively, and Blizzard's Diablo II is still the seventh most popular game. Jagex's web-based RuneScape is the sixth most popular game, and Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source are also still successful.
