FUD Zilla claims NVIDIA's 40nm GT218 GPU is almost ready for production. The site believes this entry-level chip may arrive sometime in April.
The chips might be finalized shortly, and TSMC should start printing them soon, but Nvidia still has to ship the chips to its partners and get first cards out. We heard that April is the earliest timeframe in which you should expect these cards out, and we can only have our fingers crossed for Nvidia and hope that they can meet their own schedule.

This is a huge step for Nvidia, as 40nm is not an optical shrink, it is a brand new process and it is always complicated to move from 65nm full node to 40nm full node. Bear in mind that 55nm was only an optical shrink, half node process.
