NVIDIA Ion offers same battery life as current netbooks

FUD Zilla heard from NVIDIA that netbooks based on the NVIDIA Ion platform will offer the same battery life as current netbooks, but they will have supreme graphics performance of course. NVIDIA claims Ion based netbooks will offer ten times as much graphics performance than netbooks based on the Intel Atom platform.
However, the performance figures are limited to the things where the Nvidia chipset offers advantages over the Intel 945GSE, such as in 3D graphics, HD video playback and video encoding/transcoding. It's unlikely that we'll see any performance gains outside of this, although anything is possible as they say.

Even when Intel gets the GN40 chipset out, Nvidia should still have a superior platform, as Rene Haas said that the Geforce 9400M offers five times the performance compared to the GN40 using a Core 2 based mobile processor. It seems like Nvidia is very proud over what it has accomplished and is not shy when it comes to saying how bad Intel's chipsets for the Atom platform are.
