FUD Zilla reports ASUS dropped the price of the Eee PC S101 to 499EUR. This is the second 50EUR price cut since this somewhat more premium netbook was launched in October 2008.

The rumor site also mentions the Eee PC 901 with 12GB also received a 50EUR price cut, you can now find this model for around 249EUR. Other SKUs got a bit cheaper too, although not significantly.

There was also a report on DigiTimes that 8.9" SSD-based netbooks are seeing sharp price drops, as demand for SSD models is dropping and netbook vendors are clearing inventory to make way for 10" netbooks.
Netbook vendors are dropping prices of their 8.9-inch netbooks models to clear inventory, and solid state drive-based (SSD-based) models are seeing the sharpest drops, according to sources at channel vendors.

The loosening of netbook hard drive restrictions from 80GB to 160GB, and the higher cost of SSDs are causing demand for SSD netbooks to drop.
