OCZ is showing off a prototype of a super fast PCI Express based solid state drive at CeBIT. The OCZ ZDrive takes up two PCI Express slots, it features 1TB of flash memory and has a RAID controller with a 800MHz Intel IOP341 and 256MB cache memory.

Dutch tech site Tweakers saw the ZDrive in action and reports the storage device performs really well in ATTO Disk Benchmark. It achieved a read and write speed of more than 31MB/s when transferring tiny 512 byte files, and achieved an impressive write speed of 595MB/s and read speed of 814MB/s with a transfer size of 64KB.

The OCZ ZDrive won't be cheap though, depending on the storage capacity it will cost between 1500EUR and 4000EUR.
