ASUS to merge Eee PC and notebook units?

Market sources told DigiTimes that ASUS is considering to merge its Eee PC and notebook departments, this move will reportedly increase efficiency and decrease management costs.

The sources have noted that Asustek has already sent out documents of the merger plan to all related department personnel and will work out a schedule in the near future.

Asustek president Jerry Shen has declined to comment on the sources' claims.
