DigiTimes writes sources at market watchers believe Microsoft's upcoming Windows 7 operating system may boost global PC shipments by over 10 percent from the on-year decline of 5 percent this year.
Desktop PCs will enjoy the majority of the expected increase in demand, while netbooks will also be affected due to the new operating system's touchscreen features. However, notebooks are unlikely to benefit much from the new OS, according to the paper.
