Word is going around that Amazon is working on a new Kindle reader with a larger display. This new model is expected before the 2009 holiday season and will be more suitable for digital newspapers.
The device has been popular so far and according to a report from the Wall Street Journal, another Kindle reader may be coming before the 2009 holiday season. The WSJ cited sources that had seen the larger screen Kindle in action.

A larger screen version of the Kindle is reportedly an attempt to lure print newspapers to the Kindle platform in the face of falling traditional circulation numbers. Interestingly, Rupert Murdoch told attendees at the Cable Show conference that News Corp and its partners were working together to develop a large screen reader like the Kindle for its newspapers. The device is reported to be under construction by Plastic Logic and set to launch in 2010.
