Intel: Volume shipments of Larrabee in early 2010

Intel CEO Paul Otellini told analysts in yesterday's financial results conference call that volume shipments of the Larrabee GPU will start in early 2010.

Otellini also answered a question about the large die size of the Larrabee, he explained the wafer that was shown at the IDF in Beijing last week should be considered an "extreme" version of the Larrabee. The chip giant will be able to scale down the cores of the Larrabee to create models for lower price points.
