ASUS cuts 10 percent of its workforce

DigiTimes wrote ASUS is axing 10 percent of its workforce. Most of the layoffs are in the company's optical drive division.
Asustek Computer dismissed around 400-500 employees in April as it began the process of reorganizing its business, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report, which added that the layoffs accounted for 10% of the company's total staff and were mostly in the company's optical drive department.
