Sources at channel vendors told DigiTimes that sales of NVIDIA's AMD-based chipsets are expected to rise as AMD is gaining marketshare in the processor market.

According to a recent report by Mercury Research, AMD increased its share of the pie from 17 percent in Q4 2008 to 20.9 percent in Q1 2009. However, the research firm added that the quarter was mainly defined by inventory adjustments, which may lead to misleading marketshare figures.

DigiTimes also heard NVIDIA's Ion platform has been adopted by Acer, Asustek and Pegatron.
