TSMC looking into green diversification

EE Times reports TSMC is planning to enter environmental and energy related markets:
TSMC has appointed Chao Ying-cheng, president of its China operation, to lead a business unit to look into green energy, such as production of solar cells. The report quoted Tsai saying TSMC would take a long-term position on the possibilities.

"If you look at the past five to 10 years, growth has slowed down, It is very logical and natural for a company of our size to look for opportunities for extra growth," the report quoted Tsai as saying.
