Visitor numbers at Computex 2009 will be lower than forecast, due to swine flu incidents in Taiwan. DigiTimes claims large numbers of overseas visitors from the US, Japan and Mexico have cancelled their trip.
A hundred-person group from Mexico has already informed organizers that they will not attend the show, and the number of buyers from the US and Japan is also expected to see a sharp drop.

Several overseas exhibitors are reported to have also recently canceled their plans to set up booths, prompting TETDC and TCA to arrange another Taiwan Excellence Pavilion to fill the space, according to industry sources.
