Major communication satellite offline due to puzzling problems

A major communications satellite serving the Americas has unexpectedly and mysteriously shut down, knocking some customers offline. The Intelsat Americas-7 satellite, operated by Intelsat Limited of Pembroke, Bermuda, US, suddenly lost power at 0730 GMT on 28 November. No cause has been identified as yet.
