FUD Zilla heard at Computex that Intel's upcoming Calpella notebook platform will be dominated by NVIDIA graphics cards. The GPU company claims it has almost 80 percent of all Calpella design wins, and it seems ATI's mobile RV740 hasn't scored any serious design wins yet.
Since Intel’s Calpella platform based on the new quad-core mobile chip codenamed Clarksfield and a mobile version of P55 chipset that doesn’t have any IGP integrated core, Intel will have to reach for Nvidia’s or ATI’s discrete chips to fill the void.

Since these quad-core notebooks should be aiming at upper part of the market, people will want to get some decent graphics and we’ve heard that Nvidia claims almost 80 percent of all Calpella design wins, and if this turns out to be true, we will see numerous notebooks with Nvidia chips inside.
The Calpella platform is expected in Q3 2009.
