Bright Side of News reports Futuremark has issued updates for the company's most popular benchmark applications. These updates fix severe issues related to hardware detection.
The June 2009 updates are available for both 3DMark03, 3DMark05, 3DMark06, 3DMark Vantage, PCMark05 as well as PCMark Vantage.

These patches update the system information detection component to the latest version for each of these benchmark products. This fixes numerous issues related to hardware detection in the benchmarks. The updates are available as patches from the mirrors on the link below, and soon as full installer packages from mirror sites. Futuremark had to react after Ars Technica broke the story that the hardware detection on many of Futuremark's benchmarks are essentially broken, with VIA's netbook CPU scoring different scores after faking a detection as an AMD or Intel CPU.
