Noctua shows off 3-in-1 mounting system for Intel CPUs

Posted on Tuesday, June 09 2009 @ 18:16:39 CEST by

Noctua presented the new 3-in-1 SecuFirm2 mounting kit for its processor coolers at Computex, it supports LGA1366, LGA1156 and LGA775 processors.
With socket LGA1156 just around the corner, we've also shown a prototype of our new 3-in-1 mounting system for LGA1366, LGA1156 and LGA775. Adding support for Intel's upcoming Core i5 (Lynnfield) CPUs, the mounting kit is backwards compatible with all Noctua coolers since 2005 and will most likely be available free of charge or at a very low service fee for all Noctua users. At the same time, the mounting kit will also be available in a bundle with the new NF-P14 fan, allowing Noctua users to upgrade at the same time both cooling performance and socket compatibility of their heatsinks.
