FUD Zilla reports Intel is going to launch one more 45nm Core 2 "Yorkfield" processor, the Q9505. This chip is basically a Q9550 with only half as much L2 cache memory.
Core 2 Quad Q9550 works at 2.83GHz, has 12MB of cache, 95W TDP, while Q9505 will share the same spec but it the cache amount will be crippled to 6MB. The "new" CPU should cost $212 at launch and its sole purpose is to replace Q9400 2.66GHz quad-core in the „mainstream 2“ target category.

Lynnfield 2.66GHz should also coexist and target the same audience as the Q9505, but we believe it should end up at least slightly more expensive probably closer to $260 price mark.
