Intel unveiled its new 300mm Fab 68 in China will focus on the production of 65nm chips, this fab is scheduled to open next year.
The new China fab will skip production at the 90nm process node and go directly to 65nm, the most cutting-edge chip manufacturing technology approved by the US government, said Jefferson.

Construction of the structure for Fab 68 is expected to complete by the end of third-quarter 2009 with equipment installation to follow in the fourth quarter, Jefferson indicated. The fab in Dalian has already recruited 500 employees and the workforce will grow to 1,200-1,500 following its production ramp-up, he said.
