Shuttle may be planning to enter the notebook market. DigiTimes explains that may be the reason why the company recruited the ex-president of ECS's notebook business as its new president.
Shuttle's new president will be officially come on board on July 1, however, the company commented that notebooks, motherboards and PC systems are all tightly connected, and so recruiting notebook talent does not necessary mean the company will enter notebook market.

Shuttle's combined revenues for the first five months in 2009 were NT$397 million (US$12.06 million), a drop of 47.52% on year. The company said it will continue focusing on development of niche products to minimize the impact from the economic downturn.
