A filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) reveals VIA intends to issue 170 million new shares, each valued at NT$21. The chip maker hopes to raise NT$3.57 billion (US$108.84 million):
The company will keep 17 million stocks for subscription by employees and another 17 million for public subscription. The remaining 136 million stocks will be offered to current shareholders based on their current stake.

Unclaimed stocks designated for employees and existing shareholders may be reassigned at the discretion of the company chairman.
Earlier this year there were rumors that NVIDIA might buy a stake into VIA.
