Intel G31 in short supply

Posted on Wednesday, July 01 2009 @ 15:27 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck
DigiTimes reports Intel has cut supply of its entry-level G31 chipset to speed up the transition to its 4-series chipsets. The G31 currently accounts for 50 percent of Intel's total shipments to the channel.
Intel hopes that the shortage will speed up the transition to its 4-series chipsets, the sources noted.

In response, Intel has said it provides products appropriate to meet respective market needs, and does not comment on the industry speculation.
